Vladimir Zakharevich, bayan, originally from Minsk, Belarus, is a graduate of the Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory in St. Petersburg and has performed throughout Europe with his wife and musical partner, WBS Conductor Svetlana Nikonova. He emigrated to the United States in 2003 and now performs as a soloist with the WBS, the St. Petersburg Trio, and the Washington Balalaikas as well as the Beltway Balalaikas.
